Traditional annual internet survey of the Independent Information-Sociological Service “Opinia” has been initiated these days in Moldova. The survey is held on-line in the end of each year.

The meeting between Vladimir Molojen, the Minister of Information Development and Knut Storberget, the Minister of Justice and Police from Norway took place in the Ministry of Information Development.

Starting from December 26, citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be offered a new service concerning the documents validation. The new service will be available thanks to the launching by the Ministry of Information Development of the automated consultative-information system “DOC-service card”.

The project and concept of implementation of electronic governance, elaborated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with the UNDP, were presented by the elaborators of these documents within the framework of the seminar.

Territorial offices of registration of population under the Ministry of Information Development will register foreign citizens and stateless persons, who enter the country through the moldovan-ukrainian frontier points, which are not controlled by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

The law on the processing of the citizens’ personal data will regulate access to this kind of information. The draft law has already been approved by the Government.

Foreigners and stateless persons, entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova can be registered during the border crossing by means of the introduction of the respective information from identifying documents in the State register of population.

The World Summit in Tunisia on questions of information society came to its end. A number of plenary sessions and accompanying events, which were organized by different states, international organizations and IT companies, were held during the Summit. International exhibitions ICT4All, which were open during the Summit, were of major interest.

The World Summit in Tunisia brought together more than 20 leaders of states, more than 30 government leaders, as well as ministers of information and communication technologies.

The Word Summit will take place on 16-18 November in Tunisia. This Summit is also called the “decisions summit” because it is supposed to be aimed at concrete actions and solutions on realization of the final documents, which were adopted in Geneva on 12 December 2003.
